Home and Community Health

Homes can be made safer, more comfortable and accessible with adaptive equipment of all kinds including mobility aides such as walkers and scooters. Our OTs will consult with you to prescribe equipment such as bath benches, ramps, special beds, stair glides and simple strategies to make your kitchen work for you. We collaborate with home builders to plan home accessibility so that clients using wheelchairs or walkers can move easily and function independently inside and outside. Education and functional exercise towards improving independence in activities of daily life can make a big difference especially when supported by our skilled rehab aides.

Services include but not limited to:

  • Bathroom safety and equipment prescription

  • Home accessibility planning and equipment prescription – porch lifts, ramps, kitchen modifications

  • Mobility assessment and equipment prescription, walkers, wheelchairs, scooters
